The Mediterrranean Sydney is a family business which serves the finest quality Greek cuisine, cooked in a traditional Greek manner by our own experienced chef. Celebrations or private functions are a specialty at The Mediterranean Sydney. Specific consideration is definitely paid to your personal requirements. ALCOHOL RULES!.

We want you to have a great time - as long as you follow some common sense alcohol rules!
Alcohol & Behaviour:
  
The Mediterranean Sydney encourages sensible drinking by all patrons and guests.  If you are intoxicated upon arrival or at anytime during the evening you will be asked to leave.
PATRONS UNDER 18 YRS OF AGE TO BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES.

 We practice Responsible Service of Alcohol please co-operate with staff as it is against the law and if you don't, well, security or the police will be called. Drink moderately and stay safe!

YOU MUST EAT!
Late arrivals or Guests not wanting to eat – Liquor License Laws
Please refrain from inviting friends or colleagues that will not be dining at The Mediterranean Sydney. Full price will be charged regardless of any late arrivals. You and your guests must eat on the premises – this is a requirement by law as we are holders of a Restaurant Liquor License that requires this, otherwise you or your guests will be asked to leave by staff or Security
Purchasing of alcohol is on a “Pay As You Drink” system, this way there are no discrepancies or confusion on the night, (if it’s a corporate function please give your credit card to the cashier and we can organize a TAB system for your account)

MENU & SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS 
We happily cater for Vegans, Vegetarians, Halal, Gluten Free or special dietary needs with allergy requirements – 14 days notice is STRICTLY required. 
Although all due care is taken, there may be traces of ingredients which are unavoidable, therefore The Mediterrranean Sydneywill not be held liable and is not responsible for any adverse reactions 
Menu & Prices are subject to change without notice 

MANAGEMENT HAS THE RIGHT TO:
Cancel any bookings due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances. Advice of any such occurrence will be relayed to you as soon as possible (12 hours or less may apply) 
Change or cancel any Live Entertainment bookings without prior notice due to any unavoidable and unforeseen circumstances.

**Remember to follow up with a call to confirm with us the details of your booking and requirements within 7-14 days prior to your function** 

Security Deposit
A 10% deposit is required within 7 days for all bookings. 
The deposit is calculated on the total number of people indicated on the Booking Form. 
NOTE: JAN-OCT: DEPOSIT IS FORFEITED IF CANCELLATION MADE LESS THAN 14 DAYS WRITTEN NOTICE. 
NOTE: NOV/DEC: DEPOSIT IS FORFEITED IF CANCELLATION IS MADE LESS 30 DAYS' WRITTEN NOTICE. 

Final Payment
Full payment is required 14 days in advance of your booking (Nov & Dec bookings are to be paid in full 30 days in advance. 
We accept: Cash, Visa, MasterCard, AMEX & Diners 
(A 3% fee applies for all credit cards - MasterCard, VISA,AMEX and DINERS) 

Refund Policy 
In accordance with the NSW Govt entertainment industry of fair trading act, we do not give refunds
Once payment has been received, we are unable to issue refunds, date transfers or bar credits due to any guest cancellations or should guests not show up on the night. 
Late additions will be accommodated if space permits and payment is received before the night of the function.

FAQs

Question about Group Bookings in the Functions Area
I want to go all out - how many people can I invite to my party?

It is essential that anay bookings for large groups be placed well in advance! The Med's function area can accommodate up to 300 people! You can also book any number of tables for your function and enjoy the night with other groups.

Question about Group Bookings in the Restaurant Area
I have a mid-week function I would like to organise and don't need the Live Entertainment - can I still book?

Most of our mid-week after work group bookings are held in the cosy alcove in the restaurant area. We cater for up to 40 people. You can still book the function area mid-week for more than 40 people without the entertainment package - availability is limited so book well in advance.

Question about BYO acceptance
BYO?

Sorry, no BYO, we are a fully licensed restaurant and function centre. No matter though because we are offering competitively priced drinks!

Question about Parking
I'm driving to The Med, is there parking available?

Considering we are located in the heart of Oxford Street, parking is amazingly easy to find! There is Ample and Convenient Parking and on-street parking along Oxford and side streets.
For ease of mind and lack of a designated driver though, the closest railway station (Museum Station) is only a block away! Alternatively, for a small fee you can park in the following:
Cambridge Hotel – 212 Riley Street Surry Hills
The Sebel – 28 Albion Street Surry Hills
Wilson Parking Goulbourn Street , and hey! there is also street parking outside the federal court building a short walk away.

Question about Payment
Do you accept credit cards?

Yes we do! However, we do not have any cash-out facilities available if using EFTPOS! There is a surcharge fee of 3% when paying with your credit card. Credit cards currently accepted are AMEX, Mastercard, VISA and Diners. Of course, we also accept cash!

Question about bringing your own entertainment
I've organised a stripper for my friend's Hen's night - is it okay to let them in?

Yes, with conditions. Although we allow you to arrange a private stripper or live performers we are always mindful of any minors or persons easily offended by such performances at fThe Med. Call us and we can arrange for your performer to entertain you and your guests in our private studio upstairs.!

Question about minors under 12 years of age
My guests have children under the age of 12, can you cater for them?

Of course! However, due to the lively dancing and excitement from other patrons we do not allow children to run around or wander without adult supervision at all times. Please let our bookings operators know how many children under 12 will be attending so you can take advantage of the $20.00 per child Menu for ages 5-12. Children under 5 years of age usually share with their parents but can also order a separate meal paying the same low price mentioned above.

Question about guest under the age of 18
I want to have my Sweet 16 at The Med Sydney! Can I do this?

Yes, we cater for under 18's and a Sweet 16 or coming of age 18th Birthday party is always welcome at The Med Sydney! However, adult supervision of your function is strictly required. No alcohol is served to any person under 18 and bookings should br made well in advance so we can schedule our Live Entertainment to compliment your party. Menu Packages are aviailable for your party so call us to discuss. Saturday Night parties attract full-price Menus to include the Live Entertainers..

Question about bringing in your own cake(s)
I've organised a birthday cake for my party - can I bring this on the night?

Yes. However, it is strongly advised that you mark the cake box in large BOLD capital letters with the Guest of Honour's name (or organiser's name for ease of identification) along with contact telephone number if staff need to get in touch with you or the organiser. Due to the limited space in our cool room, please advise us well in advance of expected time of delivery and date of your party. Cakes will not be accepted if delivered prior to the party date unless prior arrangements are made with management.
